Organizing Your Messy Bookshelves, part 2
Here's some suggestions on how you can switch things around so the bookshelves are more functional, prettier, and easier to manage? And do it all on a budget!

Add Things That Aren’t Photos or Books - You need to add things to the shelves that aren’t just photos or books, remember you want the shelves to be warm and bright, filled with memories of your history. You can store and display unexpected items on bookshelves, using books as pedestals to accent and add interest to your collections. A favorite bowl (a wedding gift?) can be filled with those family/travel photos you had in miss matched frames. Souvenirs deserve to be out and about, so consider using them in the shelves.
Consider Groupings of Three & Small Vignettes - Grouping items by three (remember odd numbers) helps to add some symmetry to things. Another tip, move items around the shelves by creating little vignettes. Flipping 3-4 books horizontally and place a small accessory on top. Experiment with alternating items by groups of threes and twos, and ultimately created a better balance than your shelves have ever had before—not to mention it was a much more effective way to display some of your favorite things.Be inspired to think differently about your bookshelves, even if I didn’t put every single tip to use. Sometimes reworking your bookshelves is as simple as starting from a blank canvass and placing things differently. Don’t spent the remainder of your quarantine waking up and feeling frustrated by the chaotic and cluttered appearance of your bookshelves.
All it takes, is one afternoon spent rearranging.
