4 Easy Steps to Flower Arranging

Flower arranging can be fun and easy, but you may need a few simple rules to guide you.
First rule is to keep a tight color palette – either all one flower or all one color or all in one color family then add several tones of green.
Second rule is to keep the flowers looking natural - as they would grow in the garden - so add garden leaves and flower buds.
Third rule is to consider your container. In this case size does matter, the larger the container the more flowers and foliage you’ll need to fill. So consider your container options as well as where you plan on placing your arrangement.
Fourth rule is maintaining your arrangement. Always fresh cut the stems before arranging. Recut stems and change water every two days to make flowers last longer. Remove any foliage below the water line, foliage will rot and cause flowers to go bad and add a small amount of bleach keep the water from turning bad.
No matter whether you’re buying flowers at a florist, grocery store or picking them from your yard, it’s really fun to make your own arrangements.
